Free second opinion on any elevator quote

Before you sign another contractor’s number, have someone who trained adjusters nationally tell you whether the scope is real.

How do I know if an elevator quote is fair?

Short answer

Compare scopes, not prices. A lower number against a thinner scope is not a saving, and a higher number is only justified if the work behind it is. Ask every bidder for a written scope of work, then have someone who builds these systems tell you what each one actually includes.

That is what we do, free, whether or not you end up using us.

What we look at

Whether the controller is proprietary and what that costs you in year three. Whether the machine genuinely needs replacing or has two more controllers left in it. Whether rope replacement is justified by an inspection finding or added because it is easy to add.

On coastal buildings we also look for what is missing: rust remediation and 316L stainless where standard fixtures will not last.

Why we give it away

Scott spent years inside large corporate and union elevator organisations. The pattern he saw repeatedly was buildings paying premium prices while receiving less service, communication and accountability than they were owed — and rarely having anyone independent to check.

An hour of our time buys you a straight answer and buys us the chance to be compared honestly.

Questions

Questions we get asked

What do you need from me?

The written scope of work, not just the price. A photo of the pages is fine.

Will you undercut the other quote?

We will tell you what we would charge for the same scope. Sometimes that is less, sometimes it is more because the other scope left something out.

Is this really free?

Yes, and there is no obligation to use us.

How fast can you turn it around?

Usually a few business days, faster if you are against a decision deadline.

Holding a quote, a notice or a contract?

Send it over. We read it free and tell you what we would question.
