Commercial elevator repair

Diagnosis and repair on all major makes and models, with no proprietary lock-out and no waiting on a manufacturer to authorise a part.

Why is my elevator repair taking so long?

Short answer

Usually because the part is proprietary. If your controller is locked to one manufacturer, only that manufacturer can supply the board — and they set both the price and the lead time. Non-proprietary equipment can be sourced from whoever has it on the shelf, which is frequently the difference between days and weeks.

We diagnose first and quote second. If the honest answer is that the unit needs modernization rather than another repair, we will say so and show you the arithmetic.

If your equipment is 20 years old or more

Obsolescence is a pricing problem before it is a safety problem

Once equipment passes roughly twenty years, original manufacturer protection on the design has usually lapsed and production of the original boards has stopped. What that means in practice is that a part which used to be stocked becomes a specialist item, and the price stops being governed by anything except who still has one.

This is the point at which buildings start being quoted eye-watering numbers to keep obsolete equipment alive — when the same money, or less, buys a modern non-proprietary controller that any contractor can service afterwards.

What we repair

Controllers and drives, door operators and door equipment, hydraulic power units, valves and jacks, governors and safety devices, fixtures, signalisation and hoistway wiring.

Passenger, service and freight equipment across condominiums, hotels, medical offices, assisted living, airports and commercial buildings.

Repair or replace

The test is whether you are repairing the same subsystem repeatedly and whether parts are still obtainable. A building spending twelve thousand a year patching a thirty-year-old controller is funding a modernization in instalments without getting one.

We put that comparison in writing so a board can see it rather than take it on faith.

Process

How the work runs

  1. Call comes in

24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Someone who knows the equipment picks up.

  2. On-site diagnosis

In the machine room, controller open. We find the cause, not the symptom.

  3. Written quote

What is required, what is recommended, priced separately.

  4. Repair and test

Proper adjustment afterwards, not just a part swap.

Questions

Questions we get asked

Do you offer emergency elevator repair?

Yes. Emergency dispatch runs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year across the whole service territory, including weekends and holidays.

Will you work on an elevator you did not install?

Yes, on all major makes and models. Most of our work is on equipment someone else installed.

Can you repair an elevator under another contractor’s maintenance contract?

Often, depending on what you signed. Send us the agreement and we will read it for free and tell you where you stand before you do anything.

How quickly can someone get here?

We are based in Naples rather than routing through a regional office, so an entrapment here is a short drive rather than a scheduling conversation. We publish real response times once we have enough history to stand behind the number.

Holding a quote, a notice or a contract?

Send it over. We read it free and tell you what we would question.
